How Do I Use Chicken Manure Pellets in My Garden Without Hurting My Worms?

I received some chicken manure pellets from my brother for my garden, but there are no instructions provided. I'm currently trying to improve my heavy clay soil using homemade compost, and my worm population has really taken off. I want to add extra fertilizer but I'm concerned that using these pellets might harm the worms in my garden. How should I apply them safely?

Dig the pellets into the topsoil and make sure to water them well. If you can, turn the soil to prevent any critters from digging them up. This method is worm-friendly! You could also cover with some mulch if you have it.

You don’t have to worry about the pellets harming your worms! Just mix them into the soil rather than just scattering them on top. This will help the nutrients incorporate better and keep your worms happy.

These pellets are really high in nitrogen, which is great for boosting green growth. Just remember to water them well, and maybe use them at half strength to avoid overwhelming anything in your soil.
