I've got a small yard overrun with slugs and snails, and I'm trying to figure out if Rhodanthemum plants can survive in my garden. Today, I picked one up on clearance at B&Q and I placed it in a pot on a ladder leaning against a wall. The flowers will blend in with the wall, so I'm wondering if I should just plant it in a bed. Will slugs munch on it overnight, or could it stand a chance?

I've had a mixed experience with Rhodanthemum. My white one does great, but the peach variety gets eaten about half the time and the pink one disappeared in one night. I'm not sure if the color matters, though. They're beautiful plants! I've been switching out my slug-prone plants for slug-resistant ones, which has really helped—now I only find a few slugs instead of hordes!

Thanks for the heads up! I got the peach ones too, so I might hang them instead of risking them on the ground. I noticed the white ones seemed sturdier—maybe that's why they’re doing better?
