Need Help Fixing Laminate Flooring!

Hey everyone! My husband and I moved into our house about six months ago, and we've recently noticed some issues with the laminate flooring in our kitchen and living room. There are about five spots where the flooring is popping up. I'm wondering if it's possible to just remove the damaged pieces and replace them with new ones instead of doing a complete redo, since we really like the flooring and I'm concerned about the cost of a full replacement.

It sounds like you might have floating laminate that clicks together. If that’s the case, it could be a doable fix! There’s a decent video I found that walks you through replacing the affected planks. Just keep in mind that if you've got a glue-down type of flooring, it can cause issues with temperature and humidity. In a kitchen, you want to ensure it's watertight! If it ends up needing a full replacement down the line, I’d personally recommend looking into ceramic tiles—they tend to be a better option than vinyl tile, in my opinion! Here’s the video I mentioned: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AjpK6SRDeOc

That does seem straightforward, thank you! We are thinking of this as just a temporary fix for now, with plans to eventually replace the entire floor. Tile definitely sounds like the way to go when we do!
