I'm in the market for a petrol strimmer and brush heads, trying to keep my budget under £200. I'm hoping for something that's fairly hassle-free and reliable. Any suggestions would be appreciated!

I've had a rough time with some budget strimmers from B+Q—they kept failing on me. After three tries, I went for a Stihl, and I have to say, it's been amazing! It starts up every time after five years. If you're planning to use it more extensively, I definitely recommend getting a good harness; it makes a huge difference. Also, keep an eye on vibration levels; the newer models are much better at handling that, protecting your hands and arms. You can even find second-hand Stihl models on sites like Gumtree or Facebook Marketplace, which might leave you with some budget left for servicing.
Check out Parkerbrand.co.uk—they have a model with a two-year guarantee. Not sure how extensive the warranty is on most of the cheaper options, though, so it'd be good to double-check the reviews before buying.
Exactly! I'd be cautious about warranties with lower-priced options. Sometimes they're not as reliable as you'd hope, and it's not fun when you have to deal with returns.

ok thanks very much
