I'm really frustrated with my EGO 15" String Trimmer (model ST1500SF). While I appreciate that it's battery-powered, I constantly struggle with fixing the string, and opening the head is a hassle. Plus, the weight feels unbalanced, making it tough to maneuver. I'm looking for suggestions for a new trimmer that isn't too expensive, preferably battery-operated, easy to load, and light to carry. I appreciate any tips you pros have!

I feel your pain about the EGO! It can be a hassle to open the head, but honestly, most trimmers require that at some point. Personally, I really enjoy my auto-load feature; it makes string replacement a breeze. If you're worried about balance, getting a bigger battery can help. Overall, I’d say I’m satisfied with my trimmer, just like you might find your perfect match with something new!
Not a fan of my EGO either. I've had issues with other EGO tools, so I'm here hoping for some solid alternatives from the community as well!
I absolutely love my 40v Ryobi trimmer! It's been super reliable and easy to use, especially when it comes to reloading the string. The head is really user-friendly too. Just wish the string had a sharper edge, but overall, I'm really happy with it!

Totally agree! The auto-load is a lifesaver! Plus, I’ve found that using a shoulder strap and a lightweight battery makes the whole experience so much better.
