I've been dealing with mice and rats getting into my car recently. Last winter, I used peppermint oil, and it worked like a charm to drive them away and prevent them from nesting. I didn't think I would have an issue during the summer months, but I'm running into problems again. I've set up some traps and ordered more peppermint oil along with cayenne pepper because I'm all in on the minty scent! I'm looking for other reliable methods to keep these pests away, especially since I live close to a heavily vegetated area where they probably find refuge. Any suggestions?

Honestly, I say just go for the kill. Clear out any brush, trash, or food sources near your area, and definitely get a cat if you can. They’ll help keep the rodent population in check. Deterrents might be nice, but in my experience, nothing beats a straightforward approach!
Have you ever tried using a product like "One Bite"? It's available on Amazon and at feed stores, and it's supposed to work really well for mouse and rat issues. My dad had a property with a ton of field mice, and he swore that this stuff did the trick for him!
Thanks for the recommendation! I'll check it out.

What about the issue of them dying in my car? I don't want to deal with a rotting carcass! And what stops other animals from eating the poisoned ones?
