Looking for an 80s/90s Woodworking Show with a Comedic Twist

Hey everyone! I'm trying to recall a woodworking TV show that aired in the Columbus, Ohio area during the late 80s and early 90s, likely on PBS. There were two main hosts: one was shorter, a bit on the heavier side, with longer dark hair and a mustache. The other guy was taller and often wore a bandana—he might have had a Boston accent.

What stood out about this show was its lighthearted vibe. It reminded me of 'Car Talk', where the hosts seemed like good friends who would roast each other and share a lot of laughs. One running gag involved the flat carpenter's pencil. I vividly remember one episode where the heavier guy ended up in some kind of accident, with his head humorously kept alive inside a cabinet!

This definitely isn't 'Home Improvement', but it feels like it could be a spoof or inspiration for 'Tool Time'. Thanks for any help in jogging my memory!

EDIT: Mystery solved! It was 'The Furniture Guys'. Huge thanks to u/1000PiecesPlus for helping me remember this gem!

Sounds like you're describing 'The Furniture Guys'. Those guys were hilarious! The flat pencil gag was classic.

Exactly! I'm even checking out old episodes on YouTube right now. Reminds me of when TLC actually had educational content!

You might want to check out 'The Furniture Guys'. They had a similar vibe with the two hosts joking around and being good pals. They were quite popular back in the day!
