What are some easy ways to create a makeshift door for privacy?

I'm a college student moving into a house with roommates, and my new bedroom doesn't have a door since we're transforming a living area into a bedroom. I need suggestions for something I can use as a door that doesn't require much installation, just something to help maintain my privacy. Does anyone have any ideas?

You could just stack some cardboard boxes to create a wall! It might look a bit funny, but it’s definitely a fun and temporary solution, plus you can always knock it down like the Kool-Aid Man!

Oh yeah! That could be hilarious!

Have you thought about using a Japanese-style room divider? It can be a stylish way to section off your space, though it might not be super private. If you're up for a little DIY, you could also frame a wall using 2x4s and some cheap paneling. Just make triangular feet to keep it steady without fixing it to the floor or ceiling.

That actually sounds interesting! I might explore that option.

If you don't mind a little noise, a simple tension rod with some curtains works great! It’s super easy to set up and can give you the privacy you need without any permanent installation.

That sounds like a solid option! I’ll definitely consider it.
