I've been struggling with a cat pee smell in my brand new home for almost 2 years now. We've tried everything imaginable to get rid of the odor that's deeply embedded in our downstairs concrete floors after tearing out the flooring. We've used various enzymatic cleaners, sealants, and even Kilz, but nothing seems to work. This issue has made half of our home unlivable, and it's been super stressful, especially since we just took in our niece and nephew. I really want to enjoy my home again, but it feels like there's no end in sight. Can anyone suggest effective methods to finally get rid of this smell once and for all?

Have you considered using an ozone generator? They can help neutralize stubborn odors, including cat pee smells. Just be sure to follow the instructions, keep pets and plants out, and air out your home afterward. You might also want to stay at a hotel for a night while you treat the space, as the ozone can be strong.
You could also try using hydrogen peroxide in a humidifier to help remove the odor as vapor. Just be cautious with strong chemicals around children. If the problem persists, high-quality sealers are available that can encapsulate the odor in the concrete. It might be worth giving those a shot after deep cleaning.
I’ve tried some sealers before with no luck, but I’ll give hydrogen peroxide a try as you suggested!
It seems like you've tackled a lot already! But don't forget to check other areas. Sometimes the smell could linger in HVAC ducts, under cabinets, or inside furniture. Ensuring every inch is clear and clean is key. You might want to think about bringing in a professional for a more thorough inspection, as they might catch things you haven't.
That's true! I might have overlooked those areas. I'll check the ducts and under the cabinets to see if they might be culprits.

Thanks for the suggestion! What's an ozone generator exactly, and where can I usually rent one?
