I'm completely new to woodworking but eager to dive in! I want to start crafting tables and cabinets, possibly as a little side business in the future. I'm planning to take a basic woodworking class soon. What essential tools and equipment should I invest in to get started? Any other tips would also be appreciated!

Good luck with your classes! For starters, I'd recommend getting a random orbital sander; it's a must for finishing your pieces. And while a track saw is good for breaking down sheets, a table saw really shines when you're doing multiple cuts for cabinets. Plus, clamps will be necessary depending on your joinery. Sounds like you're on the right track!
Definitely take that class! It will save you a lot of cash in the long run since woodworking can get pricey if you don't know what you're doing. Before you start building your setup, focus on a few essentials. You'll want a track saw or a table saw for cutting plywood. A decent drill will be your best friend, along with some strong glue. For joinery, pocket screws are super easy; dowels are great too, but they can be a bit tricky. Don't forget a good tape measure, a sharp pencil, squares, and some clamps. And invest in a shop vac because you'll create a mountain of dust! Also, safety gear like glasses and masks is crucial. You can thank me later!
Great advice! I agree on the safety gear. You're going to need it, especially when working with power tools.
Are you thinking about building tool cabinets or kitchen cabinets? It sounds like you have some creative ideas in mind! I would say you can aim for both with the right tools, just keep in mind what types of projects you want to tackle first.

Couldn't have said it better! The table saw saves so much time later on.
