Thoughts on the 10” Mitre Saw?

I'm considering a 10" mitre saw but I've come across a lot of mixed reviews. It seems like it hasn't been updated in years, and I'm worried about potentially buying it only to see a new model released shortly after. Some say it's not worth the price and can be tricky to set up correctly, lacking features like a laser sight. However, I'm interested because I already have multiple batteries from the same ecosystem it belongs to. I'm hoping to snag a sale during Labor Day. Has anyone here had any experience with it or have any recommendations?

Honestly, I think the 10" saw is pretty poor quality. I had one for 2 years and the arm just felt so flexy that any angled cuts ended up inconsistent. If you're doing finish work, I'd suggest going for something like the Festool Kapex 120 instead; it’s a lot more reliable!

Yeah, I've seen that one. The Festool is on a whole different price level though!

I’ve got the 7 1/4" M18 Miter Saw and honestly, it’s fantastic! I don’t have to deal with power cords, which is super convenient. I mainly use it for cutting dimensional lumber, though. If I need to do more delicate, finish work, my 12” corded saw does the trick better. But for most tasks, the M18 is a solid choice!

Totally agree! I ended up selling my corded 12” when I got my 7 1/4”. It’s surprisingly accurate and many trim carpenters seem to prefer the smaller saws for that reason. Bigger blades can sometimes flex and mess up precise cuts.

I own the 10" saw and I’ve used it heavily over the past year for projects like building decks and cabinets. Honestly, squaring it is quick and easy—I only had to do it a couple of times, and one was because I dropped it. No real complaints from me!
