How Do I Get Rid of Unpleasant Smells in My Apartment?

I've noticed an unpleasant smell in my apartment, but I'm not sure what's causing it. It could be from the heat, my wooden floors, old paint, dust, or even a carpet in the hallway. I thought about using candles or air filters, but I'm looking for more effective solutions. Any ideas?

It sounds like a classic case of old smells settling in! If your place has been around for a while, it might have picked up scents from pets, smoke, or just age. My advice? Start with a deep clean—dust everything, and since you mentioned you don’t have carpet, make sure to clean the floors well. If you have central air, definitely consider getting the ducts cleaned too. It can make a huge difference!

What about using an air purifier? I heard they help with lingering odors.

If you’re at the top floor, that rules out any crawl space odors. Just ensure that your ventilation is working properly. Sometimes, just improving airflow can help a ton! Also, consider putting a small bowl of vinegar or baking soda in the room; they can absorb a lot of unwanted odors.

Good point! Sometimes just airing it out for a few hours can really help clear the air.
