Gutter Guards and Roof Replacement: Why Are They Upcharging Me?

Hey everyone, I need some advice about my recent roofing job. I had a metal roof installed, and the gutter guard company had told me that my gutters didn't need to be removed for the installation. However, the roofers ended up taking them off anyway. Now, the gutter helmet company is saying they want to charge me extra for putting the gutters back on, even though my insurance is covering the costs for this work. The roofers had specified that the gutters didn't need to come off in writing, but it seems like they changed their minds at the last minute. I'm contemplating reinstalling my gutters myself since I'm feeling frustrated with this back-and-forth. Has anyone been in a similar situation, or do you have any tips for reinstalling galvalume gutters under a new standing seam roof? Any insights would be appreciated!

I think it's important to clarify that since the roofers took the gutters off, they should be responsible for putting them back up. Insurance companies usually need to be notified about any changes or extra costs, so it sounds like they should handle this if it's over a certain amount. Don't let the gutter guard company take charge of the install without checking with your insurance first! This is definitely something for the roofing company to handle.

Yeah, totally! Just make sure to have a direct conversation with the roofers and remind them of the contract. They can't just leave you hanging like that.
