Why is my shower leaking occasionally after it’s turned off?

I've noticed that my shower leaks water sporadically after I turn it off. It doesn't happen all the time, but every few hours, I hear splattering for a few seconds before it stops. Is this a common issue, and what could be causing it?

I had a similar issue before! Most of the time, it's just residual water in the shower head or pipes slowly draining out. As long as it doesn’t get worse, it’s usually not a big deal. But if you start seeing a constant drip, it might be time to replace the cartridge or call in a plumber.

Definitely sounds like a normal thing! In my 63 years, I’ve come across this many times and it’s rarely serious.

Thanks for the info! Just to clarify, what's a cartridge? I have a rain-style shower head.

Yeah, it sounds like you might need to change the guts in your valve. It could cost you a couple hundred for a plumber to come out and fix it, though.
