What Should I Do If My Toilet Keeps Overflowing?

I had a scare the other day when I flushed my toilet and the water started rising to the top before it slowly drained away over the span of a minute. I was hesitant to flush again and have left it for about two days. I'm really nervous about what might happen if I try to fix it myself. Any advice on how to handle this?

You might want to try using a toilet snake if the plunger doesn’t do the trick. Also, pouring some dish soap into the tank can help clean out the jets, which might solve the problem!

Using a toilet plunger is usually the first step you should take. Just make sure to cover the hole completely and push down hard to create a seal. You should be fine afterwards!

Just a heads-up, if you're using ‘flushable’ wipes, those can cause major clogs. When you flush and it starts to overflow again, try pouring a cup of dish soap into the bowl and let it sit until the water level goes down. It'll help break stuff up!
