Hey everyone! I'm really interested in how you all manage crop rotation in your gardens. I know it's essential for keeping diseases at bay, but I often find myself rotating crops somewhat randomly. How do you decide which plants to rotate and when? Also, do you rely on pesticides to handle pest problems, or do you have other strategies?

I have a simple method that works for me! I use six boxes for my vegetables and rotate them clockwise every year. For example, if my tomatoes are in box one this year, they'll move to box two the next year and so on. I also mix in flowers and herbs with my veggies, which I think helps too. I'm sure with a bit more research, I could refine my approach even further!
Great idea! I’ve heard it's best to wait at least four years before growing the same crop again, but there's definitely more to consider, like which plants grow well together.

That sounds pretty effective! I do something similar but with just four boxes. After four years, the same plant ends up in the same spot. I focus on rotating between garlic, peas, tomatoes, and beans. It keeps things balanced with a nitrogen fixer followed by a non-fixer. I also fill gaps with squashes and leeks.
