Hey everyone! I know this has been discussed a lot before, but I really need some advice. I'm looking to get a miter saw for some home remodeling projects, but I'm a bit hesitant about the 10" and 12" models. I've seen a lot of mixed reviews. My main concern is that my house has old electrical wiring, so I want to avoid corded options because the breakers trip easily. I've noticed that many folks recommend the DeWalt miter saws, but I'd either need a corded one or invest in new batteries since I currently have a bunch of Milwaukee batteries (5-8ah). Also, do Forge batteries enhance performance? I'm intrigued by the idea of getting a couple, but I want to make sure it's worth it and I don't end up switching battery platforms just for this saw. Any thoughts?

I’ve got both the 10" miter saw and a table saw from Milwaukee, and I’ve been pretty happy with their performance. I usually do cabinet installation work, and with a 12.0AH battery in the table saw and an 8.0AH in the miter saw, I can typically handle 2-3 medium projects without issues. Sure, bevel cutting 1x6 maple might take a few passes, and you might need to slide a bit when cutting large crown molding, but overall, they work just fine for me. Just a heads up though, I think the Milwaukee table saw stand is pricey for what you get, and the crown stops for the miter saw could be better. Honestly, I'd suggest trying them out and seeing if they fit your needs!
Honestly, if a corded miter saw is tripping your breakers, there might be bigger electrical issues in your setup. But if you're considering it, I’d recommend the DeWalt miter saws—especially the made in Taiwan ones. You could even look on Facebook Marketplace for a good deal there!
Yeah, I hear you! My old farmhouse has its quirks too, just not ready to upgrade the panel since we won't be staying forever. Just want to make some updates without too much hassle.
Honestly, steer clear of the 10" model; I had one and couldn't stand it. I ended up selling it pretty quickly. I've heard the larger models are better, but I switched brands altogether.

I totally get that! I tried out someone else's 10" saw, and while I was alright with it, I keep seeing people say that Milwaukee's miter saws can struggle. Just don’t want you to end up regretting your choice if you go for it.
