Can I Replace My Window with a Smaller Size?

Hey everyone! I'm looking for some advice on replacing my window. The current window measures 25x36.75 inches, and I'm considering a replacement. I've noticed most windows at Home Depot are around 23.75 by 35.5 inches. Will those fit, or will they be too small? Should I be thinking about a custom window instead? Also, which type would be better for easy egress? I'm considering either a double-hung or a casement window, as the old one didn't have an egress option. Any insights?

You might want to consider just replacing the glass instead of the whole window frame. It can save you cash! Insulated Glass Units (IGUs) can be made to fit your exact measurements, too.

Yeah, that’s actually a great idea! If you're only dealing with the outer glass, you can likely just caulk a replacement piece instead of going through the hassle of a full window replacement.
