Where Can I Find Osage Orange Wood in California?

I'm looking for a piece of osage orange wood that measures at least 2 inches by 2 inches by 40 inches, with the grain aligned vertically. I live in California, and I'm not sure where to find this type of wood here. Any suggestions?

You might want to check out Gilmer in Portland. They've got a great selection of wood, including osage orange. Here's their website: [gilmerwood.com](https://www.gilmerwood.com/) but make sure to call ahead to see if they can ship to you!

I found a place in Carlsbad that has an osage orange slab on clearance, it's 83 inches long! You can check it out here: [tehwoods.com](https://www.tehwoods.com/wood-shop/black-friday-sale/clearance-slabs?species=osage-orange). That could be a good option if you're in California!

If you're into DIY projects like bow making, consider checking out forums related to that. They might have leads on where to find osage orange, since it’s popular for bows! Also, try asking on woodbarter.com for additional sources.
