I recently found some rotted apples from last year's harvest that I put in a food recycling bin in my garden. They were hidden away and I completely forgot about them. Now I'm wondering if this sludge can be reused. Can I till it into a raised bed with some strulch, or is it just toxic waste? Is it essentially an inexpensive fertilizer, or should I avoid using it? Help!

If you have some empty raised beds from autumn, it might be best to throw those apples in there and let them decompose naturally. Just a heads-up though, rotting fruit can attract pests which can harm your plants!
You could definitely compost those apples if you have the option! But if you're looking to use them straight away, tossing them directly into your raised bed could work, especially if you mix them with strulch. Just be careful to not add too much at once.
Look out, those apples might have turned into vinegar! If it's just a small amount, mixing it in could be fine. For a larger amount, consider adding it to compost gradually, so it doesn't cause any smell issues.

That's a good idea! Mixing them with the strulch should help, just don’t overload your bed or it might get too smelly.
