Help! My brother spilled paint all over the house, what do I do?

I'm in a bit of a predicament here. My brother, who has autism, accidentally got wall paint all over my house - it's on the walls, carpet, and doors. I really need some advice on how to clean it up. I can't afford to renovate, so any tips on removing the paint without causing more damage would be greatly appreciated!

Try to clean it up as soon as you can! The longer it dries, the harder it'll be to remove. For hard surfaces, scraping or sanding might work, but the carpet is likely a lost cause. If it’s actual carpet, you could use denatured alcohol or lacquer thinner; they both stink, so make sure to ventilate the room well. Just dab a bit on and try scrubbing to see if it helps loosen the paint!

Thank you, I'll look into some of the stuff you mentioned 🙂

For the walls and doors, if the paint is thick enough, you might be able to carefully peel it off. Just be gentle! For the carpet, it can get trickier, especially if it’s dried. You’ll need to act fast to increase your chances of getting it out.

Yeah it has been doing, thank you!

Sanding and repainting walls and doors is usually straightforward, but for the carpet, it’s probably not worth the hassle unless it's just a small area. If it’s a big mess, maybe look into patching or replacing sections instead of the whole thing. You might have some luck with specific carpet cleaners too!

We do have some spare paint so I'll get working with that, the rug I reckon is just ruined....but I'll try different cleaning products. Thanks!
