I'm redesigning my home in Central America and I'm working with a large 12x12 room made of coated cinderblock with tiled floors. I'm planning to convert part of this room into a laundry space with a washer, dryer, and chest freezer while keeping some closet space for clothing. Given the climate—mostly mild with low humidity except during the rainy season—I'm curious if having these appliances together could cause issues with moisture or mildew in my clothes. I heard that the freezer might add humidity every time it's opened. Do you think I should be worried about this?

You should be alright! The main concern with moisture typically comes from the dryer exhaust, not the freezer. Just ensure your dryer vents outside to avoid any humidity buildup.
Thanks for that reassurance!
Don't worry about the freezer adding humidity. Cold air holds less moisture, so it shouldn’t be a problem. It’s more about how you manage ventilation and the dryer exhaust.
Glad I asked! I was really worried about that.

That's good to know! We'll make sure the dryer is placed against an exterior wall to manage the exhaust.
