I recently bought a house, and there's a pocket door leading to the basement that doesn't have any rollers. It's designed to slide into the wall, but unfortunately, it's been drywalled around. I really want to avoid tearing down the wall if possible. Can I somehow install rollers from the outside of the door, or is there a way to set up rollers underneath the door so it rolls like a skateboard? I'm aiming for a smooth glide without major renovations. Thanks for any tips!

I had a similar issue, and I ended up getting some one-inch castors that screw into the bottom of the door. It worked like a charm for me! It might be worth trying that if you want a smooth glide without major work.
One way to tackle this is by removing the trim from the door frame. You should be able to get enough access by taking off all the trim, which might give you a path to pull out the door if installed correctly. That way, you can check out the overhead rail and replace it if it’s damaged without having to tear down any drywall. Good luck!
Yeah, that's a solid approach! Just make sure to take your time with the trim; you don't want to break any pieces you plan to reuse.

That sounds promising! I’ll check those out—thanks for the suggestion!
