I received a money tree as a gift, but I'm struggling to keep it alive. It's in my office, where it doesn't get direct sunlight. I've been misting the leaves and soaking the roots in water while keeping it in a warmer spot. Could someone please advise me on what I'm doing wrong? I really want to help this plant thrive! Thanks!

It sounds like you're giving it too much water, especially with the misting. You should only water it when the soil feels dry. Try to move it to a brighter spot if possible – money trees do need some light. Also, when you mention 'money tree,' it might help to clarify which type of plant it is since that name applies to various species.
First off, what exactly do you mean by 'money tree'? The term can refer to a couple of different plants. If it’s actually Pachira aquatica, that one likes bright, indirect sunlight and moderate watering. If you're unsure, you could always post a picture for better identification!
Thanks for the tip! I think it's Pachira aquatica since the person said it's a money tree, but I’ll check to be sure and share a pic!

I've definitely heard that various plants go by the name 'money tree'. It's good to know specifics for care! Just make sure it gets good light and keep the watering in check.
