Hey everyone! I've been struggling a bit with my houseplants lately. I learned the hard way that not all plants do well in oversized pots. Years ago, I repotted my weeping fig into a huge pot, thinking it would help her thrive, but now I feel like I may have made a mistake. I also have a yucca that could definitely use a bigger pot. My question is: Can I repot my plants at any time of the year, or should I really wait for the right season? My poor figgy is looking for a better home, and I don't want to mess things up again!

It's usually best to repot during the active growing season, but you can do it in winter if you have to. Just be cautious of how much bigger the new pot is; something slightly larger is usually fine!
Actually, a pot that’s too large isn’t usually a big problem, but make sure the substrate is breathable. You can absolutely repot your plants now if you want!
That makes sense! Thank you for the tip!
You can repot houseplants anytime you feel they need it! If they're unhappy, giving them a new home can definitely help. Just make sure the new pot has good drainage and the right soil for your plant.
Awesome! Thanks for the reassurance! ?
Just keep an eye on them—sometimes it’s better to repot right before they start growing again!
From my experience, repotting during the growing season tends to help plants adjust better. If your figgy seems to be struggling, she might actually thrive once you move her. Just be gentle when handling her, especially if there’s new growth!
Got it, I'll take extra care when I do this.
What season is it for you? Generally, I’d recommend repotting between spring and autumn when the days are longer and plants are actively growing. They’ll handle the transition much better during this time!

So, if my figgy is still growing, it’ll be okay to repot even though it’s not peak season?
