How Soon Should I Repot My New Money Plant?

I just picked up a money plant today from Home Depot and I'm wondering if it needs to be repotted right away. If repotting is necessary, what's the best way to go about it? Any tips would be appreciated since this is my first time taking care of a plant!

If you want to check the roots without fully repotting, you can gently lift the plant out of the pot just a bit to inspect the bottom. If they're tightly bound or looking unhealthy, consider repotting sooner rather than later, especially to avoid any issues like being choked by root bindings. But if everything looks fine, give it another week to settle in.

Definitely keep an eye on the roots! But don’t feel like you need to rush into repotting. Just a small increase in pot size is usually all that’s needed, so try not to go too big right off the bat. Maybe wait a few days and then check how it's doing.

It's usually best to wait a couple of weeks after bringing your new plant home. This gives it time to acclimate to its new surroundings. If you repot it too soon, you risk stressing it out. Most plants from nurseries are often in too-small pots, so they might need repotting later on, but just give it a little time first.
