I recently had a contractor install a recessed dryer vent box, and now I'm wondering if the way it looks is safe for long-term use. I've attached a picture for reference. Can anyone shed some light on whether using flexible duct and flexfit inside drywall is advisable? Is it compliant with building codes?

Honestly, it doesn't look great, but it's not terrible either. Given the situation, there's not much else they could have done with that duct placement. It should be okay, but just keep an eye on it.
Using flexible duct inside a wall is generally against code, man. You might want to bring this up with your contractor and find a compliant solution instead.
I'll definitely mention this to him. I want to make sure everything is up to standard!

Thanks for that input! So, using duct and tape inside the wall isn’t a big issue? You think it meets code?
