Hey everyone! I recently discovered that my dog had an accident in a spare room and unfortunately, the smell is still lingering. I've pinpointed the area to about 2.7 sq ft and have tried cleaning it several ways. I used a regular carpet cleaner, a mixture of vinegar and water, and even a whole bottle of Nature's Miracle stain and odor remover. Despite all that, the smell seems to be coming back as it dries. I'm concerned that the odor might be in the carpet pad or even the sub-floor. Since I'm renting the place, I'm not sure what to do next or how to find help for this. Any ideas? Thanks!

It sounds like the urine has soaked into the carpet pad. You might need to get a professional carpet cleaning service to handle it with the right extraction equipment, especially if it’s deep in there. They can help determine if it’s also affected the sub-floor.
Honestly, if it doesn’t improve, it might be best to consider replacing the carpet and pad. But before you go that route, try some other products. I've had success with Sunny & Honey Pet Stain Miracle and OdoBan. For the best results, soak the area and use a weight to help absorb it, changing out paper towels as needed. It worked wonders for me!
Yeah, it probably soaked through to the pad and maybe even to the sub-floor. If that’s the case, just cleaning the carpet won’t be enough. A pro carpet cleaning is a good option, but if it’s really in the sub-floor, you might end up needing to pull up the carpet altogether.

I totally agree! Those products can be really effective. I wouldn't give up on the carpet just yet—make sure you try those methods first!
