Where Should I Caulk in My Shower/Tub Setup?

I have a four-piece shower/tub setup in my home, and I'm really confused about where caulk should or shouldn't go. I've heard different things and would appreciate any advice you can offer! Here's a link to an image for reference: https://imgur.com/a/L5jHzwP

You usually don’t need to caulk those kits because they’re designed to allow water to drain properly. I do remodels, and I’ve removed plenty of these setups without ever seeing caulk on them, and I’ve never encountered any water damage behind them. So, you might be okay without it!

That’s what I suspected! The home inspection suggested caulking, but now I'm unsure. Thanks for the insight!

A good tip is to check if you can find a similar model online and see the installation instructions. Usually, these kits are built to work well without caulk or need it only in certain areas where they meet other surfaces, as others have mentioned.

You definitely want to focus on the tub edge and the top wall edge when caulking. The top wall one is rarely redone. This might be the most critical area to consider.
