How to Work Outdoors Without Making a Mess?

Hey everyone! I'm currently living on the road with my Roman bench and a small tool kit. I wanted to ask if any of you have experience working in public spaces like parks or even just outside in general. How do you manage your wood shavings while working outdoors? Would using a tarp be a good idea? Additionally, I'm concerned about whether placing the legs of my bench directly on dirt or grass could damage them over time. Any advice would be appreciated!

I totally get where you're coming from! Putting your bench legs on grass or dirt isn’t ideal since it can lead to wear and tear over time, especially if you’re moving it around a lot. If you can, maybe try to find a more stable surface or carry a couple of small boards to place under the legs. This will help protect them and keep your setup steady!

If you want to keep your wood shavings, a tarp is definitely a smart choice! It lets you collect everything easily and keeps the area tidy. Plus, it's pretty much a must in public spaces to avoid being rude about leaving a mess behind. Otherwise, if you're working with unfinished wood, the shavings are organic and can be left to decompose, but it still feels better to clean up after yourself, right? Just a thought!
