My Milwaukee M18 Multi Tool Keeps Shutting Off – Need Help!

I bought a Milwaukee M18 Fuel multi-tool last August, and it's been shutting off while I'm using it. I sent it back to Milwaukee for repairs, but when I got it back, it immediately had the same issue. It's really frustrating—either they didn't test it at all or just sent it back without checking. I've got two jobs coming up that will require a lot of cutting, and I can't afford to be without it for another two weeks. Sometimes it runs for a minute or so, but then it just shuts off, and I have to flip the switch off and back on to use it again. I'm looking for tips or quick fixes to get me through until I can sort this out!

Ugh, I feel your pain! Mine started doing that too, and it's super annoying. Eventually, the motor broke completely, and I had to get a new one. If you're using it heavily, definitely think about getting a second tool. The M12 Fuel is great—handy and lighter. It might not be as fast, but it’ll get the job done while your M18 is out.

Yeah, mine's not that old either, and it started shutting off on me too. It’s a common issue with these tools. If you’re using it heavily, having a backup is lifesaver! Good luck!

If you're in a bind, consider checking out the M12 Fuel—it’s about $160 at Home Depot if you already have batteries. I've heard it's pretty close in power to the M18, so that might be a decent backup until you get your tool repaired.
