I'm looking for a good way to cover a door without using traditional options like shades or curtains, which tend to be messy or block too much light. I was thinking about using louver shutters, but I haven't found any resources that show how to install them directly on a door. Has anyone tried this?

If your door is glass, you might want to check out stick-on window treatments. They add some privacy without a lot of fuss, and you can find them super cheap on Amazon!
Have you thought about sheer curtains? They let in quite a bit of light while still providing some coverage, but I understand if that's not what you're looking for.
I want something that can block light completely when needed, not just diffuse it.
There are also add-on blinds specifically made for glass doors. They mount right over the door glass, which could be a good option for you!
I looked into those Zabitat blinds, but they didn't seem very reliable or compatible with various door brands. Plus, I prefer the look of solid wood louver shutters.

I'm really after something more permanent and sturdy, which is why I'm considering the louver shutters.
