Is the DCD 806 Really That Disappointing?

I've recently tried out the DCD 806, and honestly, it's one of the biggest letdowns from Dewalt I've come across. I've been eager for its release, but it just doesn't measure up in power compared to my DCD 805. Plus, the anti-kickback feature feels way too sensitive to me. I'm starting to wonder if I just got a faulty unit. Has anyone else had similar experiences?

You're not alone! I've heard from quite a few people that the anti-kickback on the DCD 806 is overly sensitive. It's frustrating, especially when you're trying to work efficiently. Seems like a common problem out there!

I totally agree! That anti-kickback feature is just plain awful. I was super excited for this drill too. I wouldn't be surprised if Dewalt eventually modifies this in future models.

I ended up returning mine the same day due to the same issues. It ended up causing me tons of delays on-site, and I felt embarrassed because of it. It’s really disappointing given all the hype around it!

Right? I’ve heard the marketing rave about it being more powerful than the Gen 3 Milwaukee Fuel, but it doesn't even come close. Feels more like a toy than a serious tool.

I’m curious if the DCD 801 drill driver has the same anti-kickback problems or if it’s just the 806. Has anyone tried it? Curious for the comparison!
