How Do I Stop Sharpie from Bleeding Through My Wall Paint?

I need some advice on a problem I've been dealing with since my home was vandalized about 7 months ago. After managing to scrub the sharpie off as much as possible and repainting the walls, I've noticed that the sharpie has been bleeding through the paint in many areas. I didn't use primer before painting, so I'm wondering if there are better solutions now that it's already been painted over. Should I try something like an alcohol solution or a magic eraser on the already painted areas? Or do I just need to keep repainting whenever it shows through? If there's a better method to fix this ongoing issue, I'd love any tips! This has been really bothering me, and I'd like to find a permanent solution.

It sounds like you might need to start with a primer to seal in the sharpie. If you didn't use one before, go ahead and repaint the walls, but this time use a good primer to help prevent any bleeding through. It should make a big difference!
