How Can I Tone Down This Bright Yellow Living Room?

Hey everyone! Yesterday, my friend and I painted our living room a light yellow that my wife and I thought would be perfect. However, it turns out the color doesn't mesh well with our lighting and general decor. We're really aiming for a warmer, orangey hue, but the light yellow we chose just feels too bright. We've noticed that different areas of the room get varying amounts of light due to window positions, which doesn't help. I'm wondering if there are any tricks we could use to lessen the brightness without repainting everything. Are there specific light bulbs you'd recommend, maybe something low Kelvin and warm?

I had a similar problem! I started with a bright white and it was just too much. I ended up repainting to an off-white with a matte finish, and it really toned it down. It seemed crazy at first, but it’s been so much better for the ambiance!

If you're unsure about the perfect warmth, I found this awesome LED bulb that lets you change the color temperature anytime. It's perfect for finding what suits your room best.

You might want to try using bulbs around 2700K to 3000K. Those should definitely give your room a warmer vibe! Also, consider adding some curtain or window tints to help with the light coming in.

That sounds good, but wouldn't 2000K be even warmer? Just wondering if going lower would help more!
