Hey everyone, I recently got the kit for the Paul Sellers router plane and decided to finally dive into the project. As a pretty novice woodworker, I'm worried I might have messed up right from the get-go! I tried trimming a piece of stock to the right dimensions, but now it looks like it might end up being a bit smaller than intended. Am I totally doomed, or can I salvage this? Should I just give up on woodworking altogether?

Don’t stress too much! Start over if you feel it’s really off, but in woodworking, a little wiggle room is usually okay. As long as your stock is within a reasonable range of the desired dimensions, it should work out just fine. It’s not about being perfect, just a passion for creating!

True! I mean, if everything had to be perfect, we'd all be throwing out half our projects. Just make sure you adjust as needed and you'll be fine!
