Has anyone here used switched blast gates for a dust collection system? I recently picked up some aluminum self-cleaning blast gates, but when I tried to install them, I ran into a problem. My usual method of attaching microswitches with hot glue didn't work at all since it doesn't stick to aluminum. I'm looking for tips on how to securely attach the switches without having to build a frame for each gate. Any suggestions?

You might want to try using epoxy to attach the microswitches. If a switch fails, you can just add another next to it. Alternatively, consider epoxying a microswitch mount instead of the switch itself. That way, if something goes wrong, it’s easier to replace.

Good idea on the plywood + epoxy. That should get me by. Why don't you use switched gates?
