Hey everyone! I'm looking for some guidance on harvesting, drying, and milling lumber. I have access to fresh olive wood and other types of timber, but I've been struggling with splitting issues during the drying process. Can anyone share some effective methods or resources for these steps? Also, where's the best place to go for solid advice on timber harvesting?

Check out some YouTube channels like Workshop Companion. They’ve got practical videos on milling timber with a bandsaw and drying techniques that might help! It’s all about learning the basics and adapting them to your scale.

Drying lumber can be tough! The climate where you live plays a big role in how successful you'll be. Make sure to keep your wood well-stacked and avoid moisture where possible. It might take some experimentation, but you’ll get there!

Definitely talk to your local lumber yard about your plans. They can offer valuable tips! Also, drying timber incorrectly can lead to big losses, so understanding the right methods for weight distribution and stacking is crucial. I learned the hard way when my first drying attempts went south.
