How Can I Attract Customers for My Woodworking Business?

Hey everyone! I'm a budding woodworker and I've hit a bit of a wall trying to sell my products. I've been selling on my website for three months and focusing on cutting boards, but I haven't made a single sale yet. I'm putting a lot into ads, but it doesn't seem to be working. My prices are competitive — for instance, I'm selling an end-grain cutting board made of oak (4x30x40) for 85 euros with free shipping. I've checked prices from other sellers and they go for at least 95 euros. I know it's not easy to get started, but I could really use advice on how to reach potential customers. Is there a seasonal impact on woodworking sales, or any tips for improving my ads? Any help would be super appreciated, as I've always dreamed of turning woodworking into my job! Cheers!

It sounds like you're facing a common challenge! Online selling can be tough because people often want to physically feel and see woodwork before buying. Why not try approaching local tourist shops and see if you can collaborate? You might be able to display your cutting boards there, which can bring in some foot traffic. Plus, people love unique, local products!

Have you considered using local selling platforms or markets? Sites like Facebook Marketplace or local farmer's markets can be great for selling handmade items. Setting up a booth at a popular market could help you reach more potential customers directly. Just double-check if there are any setup fees, though!

To be honest, the woodworking market is quite saturated right now. There are a ton of people trying to sell cutting boards. If your boards aren't unique or have something special about them, it may be challenging to stand out. Think about diversifying the items you sell or improving your online presence through organic methods like social media outreach rather than relying solely on ads. Craft fairs and local markets might also help build your brand.

I get what you're saying. It's not my primary focus either, since I also sell other wood items like shelves and lamps. Just hope to kickstart sales with the cutting boards, but it seems tougher than expected!
