Toilet Bowl Not Refilling Properly After Flush – Need Help!

I've got a canister toilet that's acting up. After flushing, the bowl doesn't refill enough unless I hold the flush lever down for a long time. I have another identical toilet that works perfectly fine, and I've checked that the chains are set up the same way on both. Any troubleshooting tips or ideas on how to fix this?

It sounds like you might have a float issue! Check if there’s a knob on the top of the float arm — you can adjust that to see if it helps the water level. Sometimes it's just about tweaking that knob. Also, if the float isn't working correctly, that could be the problem too.

I've dealt with this before! When you have to hold the handle, it usually means something's off in the flushing mechanics. Here’s a couple of things to check:
1. The chain might be too loose or stretched.
2. The flapper might be closing too quickly.
3. For newer toilets, sometimes the rubber seal wears down, leading to issues.
A quick fix involves tightening or replacing the chain, cleaning the seal with some vinegar, or if it gets really tricky, a universal flush valve kit usually does the trick without breaking the bank.
