I've been working from home quite a bit and my office chair is really taking a toll on the wall behind it. The paint's chipped and there's a noticeable patch now (I've attached a photo for reference). I'm looking for some clever and budget-friendly DIY solutions to either fix the wall or keep it from getting damaged further.

Installing a chair rail on the wall is a great way to protect it, and you could also stick some adhesive felt pads on the chair legs. That way, your chair won’t scrape against the wall.
A quick fix could be using a pool noodle! Just cut it to size and attach it to the wall where your chair hits it. It'll provide a cushion and prevent further damage without breaking the bank.
You might want to build a horizontal frame with some 2x lumber along the base of the wall. This way, your chair can't roll all the way back. If you want it to look nice, just paint it or cover it with some carpeting!
Check out vinyl wall protectors. They’re super affordable and can easily stick on the wall to prevent damage. Great for a quick and efficient solution!
Consider adding a small boat bumper! It's designed to protect from impacts, so it could work perfectly along that wall. Plus, they're pretty affordable and easy to install.
