Hey everyone! I'm contemplating a DIY grid-tie hybrid solar system since the end of tax credits is approaching. I live in Texas and last year I consumed around 25kWh, so I'm aiming to install a system around 15kW. I want to make it hybrid to allow for battery storage down the line. Can anyone share some guidance on design, sourcing kits, getting permits, and estimated timelines? I'm a bit concerned about the permitting process, especially since many might rush to get their systems in by year-end. My roof can accommodate about 13.5kW of panels based on what I've checked. Any help would be appreciated!

You could consider just setting up a battery system and taking advantage of those free night plans. Charge the battery overnight and use it during the day, unless you’re really set on going the DIY solar route. Just keep in mind that finding someone to do the electrical work can be a bit tricky.
