Why Isn’t My Solar Panel Activating the MPPT on My Hybrid Inverter?

I just got a Datouboss hybrid inverter model DT2430 with a capacity of 3000W. It runs on 24V DC input and outputs 230VAC. My solar panel is rated at 430W with a voltage at Pmax of 32.34V. I've connected everything as per the specs, and I've confirmed that the connections are solid with continuity checks. However, the inverter is showing PV input as 0W, and I'm unable to charge my 24VDC battery. What could be the reason for this?

It looks like your solar panel isn't quite hitting the voltage requirements. The inverter's solar voltage range starts at 40V, while your panel's output is below that. You might need at least two of those panels connected in series to get the required voltage. Plus, keep in mind that typical MPPTs need a bit more than the resting voltage of a 24V battery to start charging.

Thanks for clarifying! So, I definitely need to add another panel to make this work.

And just a heads-up, check the specific start voltage in the inverter's manual; it might have a slightly higher requirement!

Yeah, you've got the right idea! With the specifications you've mentioned, your current setup won't activate the MPPT because you're under the minimum voltage threshold. Adding another panel in series should help you get the voltage high enough for the inverter to start functioning properly.
