Hey everyone! I'm dealing with a frustrating issue—my bathroom sink keeps filling up even when we aren't using it. I've tried a few things like using Drano, cleaning the P-trap (which I can't seem to reattach properly), and snaking it from both ends with the P-trap off. I really need some advice on how to fix this. Any tips?

Another approach could be to use a heavy duty shop vac. Just make sure to plug all the other drains to create a good vacuum. I've had to deal with plenty of clogs, and the vac usually works pretty well. Just lift and suck until it clears up!
Yeah, you might want to consider using a longer snake that can access the main sewer line. Hardware stores usually have rentals, or you could also hire a plumber to handle it if you want a quick fix.
It sounds like you might have a bigger clog somewhere in your plumbing. If the sink is filling up on its own, you probably need to get a longer snake that can reach the main clean-out. You can rent one of those big drain augers from Home Depot—might be worth checking out!

That's a great tip! Just be cautious not to use it if there are any solid objects stuck, like what your son accidentally flushed—definitely a tough situation!
