I've had a rough gardening season in 2025 and I'm curious if anyone else feels the same. I put in plenty of effort early in the year, but my results have been disappointing. My pepper plants look sad, I'm hardly getting any pumpkins, and I lost all my corn to a raccoon! It's been tough to stay positive, but I'm trying to focus on some small successes like having more tomatoes than ever and my first successful dill crop. Anyone else want to share their gardening wins and losses this year?

This is my first year gardening and I started from seed. It’s been super up and down. I managed to get some tomatoes and a few good herbs, but overall it’s been pretty discouraging. I think I planted too late and didn’t anticipate how wild the weather would be!
Exactly! This year has taught me a lot about patience and resilience in gardening. I just hope to enjoy the harvest, no matter how small!
I’m in zone 8, and it has been tough. It stayed chilly longer than expected, then shot straight to scorching heat. My tomatoes are green and my beans barely produced. I got a handful of squash though, but they’re struggling too!
Same here! I'm in zone 5b. We had a cold spring and then straight into the heat; my plants just didn’t know what to do. I'm just hoping next year is better!
Weather really has been all over the place this year. I thought I was doing everything right, but it's definitely been a challenge!
This year has been pretty disastrous for me in Florida. The temperature shot up way too early and we barely had any rain. I tried using sun shade and watered religiously, but I still lost many of my plants. I'm hoping for a better turnaround in October for my next planting!
I'm in North Carolina and it's been the opposite! We had a cool spring, then bam—extreme heat and rain and now everything I tried to grow is diseased. My tomatoes are turning yellow and dropping like crazy. It's been really frustrating.
It's wild how different it can be! I thought my only success would be a few pumpkins, and now my tomatoes are the only thing thriving!
You're not alone! I'm trying to keep things fun and just learning from all the ups and downs. I feel like every gardener has those years!
