What Are the Downsides of a 60/40 Kitchen Sink?

I'm considering getting a 60/40 kitchen sink because it seems like a good balance. However, I came across a comment that mentioned potential issues with the faucet placement, and I'm not quite sure what that means. Can anyone shed some light on the downsides of having a 60/40 split? Do you think it's worth it?

I actually love my 60/40 setup! I have an extendable faucet which helps a lot, and I really like that I can hang strainers in the smaller bowl. But yeah, about the faucet placement—it might not be centered based on how the bowl is split, which could throw off how you use it. We ultimately went with the 60/40 because we use the small side as a drainer for wet dishes, so it works out well for us.

That sounds super useful! I used to have a workstation sink that made everything easier to manage, so I totally get that vibe.

I'm a fan of single basin sinks. I find that the 60/40 split makes it difficult to wash larger items, like cookie sheets. If you're just doing the occasional hand wash, it might work, but with dishwashers being so common now, I think the sink is mainly for larger items or just handwashing.

Using items larger than what fits in the 60 side can be a real hassle. I haven't really seen many home sinks with sides big enough for the things I use daily, so just keep that in mind if you regularly deal with bigger pots or pans.
