I'm looking for opinions on the DeWalt FlexVolt air compressor. I've seen a lot of mixed reviews, particularly about battery life—some say it drains batteries too quickly. But I'm curious if those reviews were based on older models or if they were using the smaller 5Ah batteries instead of the beefier 9Ah FlexVolts. Any insights would be appreciated!

Overall, it's a solid little compressor when you use it as intended. Just don't expect it to do heavy-duty jobs, and you'll be good!
I have the FlexVolt (60V, not the Advantage), and I love it! I mainly use 9Ah batteries. It's perfect for quick jobs like nailing or inflating tires when I'm on the go. It gets the job done faster than a manual pump, for sure. Just don’t expect it to handle a framing nailer all day long—go for a corded option for that!
I have the 20V model and yeah, it does eat through batteries, especially if it’s only using an old 6Ah FlexVolt battery. I usually run it with 8Ah or higher. If you want longer runtimes, stick with those bigger batteries!
I was eyeing the 20V model, but it sounds like I should be cautious. I’ve read they consume a lot of battery because filling takes longer than you'd think.
It’s awesome for what it's designed for! Just keep in mind it’s super compact, so it’s perfect for inflating or light tasks. It lacks the volume for heavy-duty work, which is why I think a lot of negative reviews come from people expecting too much from it.
If you're using the FlexVolt (60V), definitely stick with the FlexVolt batteries. I’ve got the 60V compressor and it does chew through a 9Ah pretty fast, but it's fantastic for lighter tasks like powering a small nail gun or stapler. Just keep in mind, it's not meant for running bigger tools like die grinders or paint sprayers!

Good to know! So it's mainly for lighter work then. Thanks for clarifying!
