I've got a shower floor covered with pebbles, and after five years, they're starting to hurt our feet. My wife is really fed up with it, and we don't want to go through the hassle of ripping everything out. I was considering using grout and a clear epoxy to create a smooth surface while still keeping the pebbles visible for aesthetics. Is this a viable solution?

Using clear epoxy sounds like a good plan! Just make sure you visit a dedicated paint store instead of a big chain like Home Depot; they can give you more tailored advice for your project.
Have you thought about using a shower mat over the pebbles initially? It might help make it feel smoother. As for the epoxy, some folks add a little grit to it to keep it slip-resistant. But keep in mind, the pebbles might still protrude a bit.
