What Can I Plant from Seed in Mid-August on Vancouver Island?

I'm located on Vancouver Island in the Pacific Northwest, and I've just cleared out my peas, creating some space in my garden. I'm wondering if there's still time to plant something from seed that will thrive in my coastal climate. Can I also replant peas now?

You're in a great growing zone! In my zone (6B), I just planted some fall crops. For your area, try planting anything that takes about 60-80 days to mature. Good options include cucumbers, summer and winter squash, lettuce, and cabbages. Let me know if you try lettuce, it could be a nice addition!

Thanks for the tip! I haven't tried lettuce yet, but I'm intrigued.
