I recently moved into a new apartment, and while I love it, the shower has been really bothering me. It's got a lot of outdated tan features, and the previous owner even used tan wall paint on some of the grout, which makes it look worse despite my cleaning attempts. I initially thought about using peel and stick tiles, but I've read they often lead to mold issues. What if I repair the existing grout, then apply 100% waterproof peel and stick tiles on top, sealing them with silicone? Is that a good idea? I'm open to any suggestions for making the shower look better—just please, don't suggest moving to a different place!

Honestly, since it’s a rental, the best option might just be to leave it as is. It’s ugly, for sure, but if it’s functioning properly and not damaged, you shouldn't risk messing it up. Instead, a vibrant shower curtain could distract from the tiles, and you could always talk to your landlord about potential upgrades in the future if you really want a change.

Agreed! Plus, messing with tile can end up being a huge hassle if things go wrong. A cute shower curtain is an easy fix.
